Silicene is a two-dimensional sheet of Si. It is known that silicene is formed on Ag(111) by Si deposition. We investigated the structure and physical properties of the Si-deposited Ag(111) surface using ultrahigh vacuum tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy combined with scanning tunneling microscopy.
