The analysis of beam propagation in resonators is important for the guidelines of Kerr-lens mode-locking. The typically employed ABCD matrix method includes a matrix with roughly approximated Kerr nonlinearity, which often lacks detailed comparison of the analytical predictions with experimental results. In our research the mechanism of previously reported specific mode-locking can be described by using a matrix which precisely describes self-focusing.
