△ [15a-213-12] Characterization of Laser Emission at 2.8 μm of Er-doped Lu2O3 Ceramics

We have successfully demonstrated pulsed and CW operations of Er:Lu2O3 ceramic laser at around 2.8 μm wavelength with output peak power of >1 W at room temperature. The slope efficiencies of 15% and 17% were performed in pulsed and CW operation, respectively. To our knowledge, this is the highest value obtained by a Er:Lu2O3 ceramic laser. To achieve efficient lasing, we also have investigated the dynamics of lasing wavelengths and the lasing characteristics at various pulsed conditions.
