Nowadays hydrogen attracts much interest concerning elimination of Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS). We have developed a method of hydrogen generation by the reaction of Si nanopowder with water. We have succeeded in generation of 300 mL H2 by the reaction of 1g nanopowder with pH 8.3 water at 37.0℃,which volume corresponds to that included in 17L hydrogen-saturated water. From analysis of the XPS spectra and the thermogravimetric data, an increased thickness of the oxide layer well corresponds to the generated hydrogen volume.
