[15a-E206-2] Realizing n-type conduction and high thermoelectric performance in Mg3(Sb,Bi)2 by Se substitution

We previously reported that Te-doped Mg3(Sb,Bi)2 with n-type character shows an excellent thermoelectric performance, but there remains, despite a little, risk of depletion of tellurium, as it is an extremely rare element. Here we report that another group 16 element, selenium, can also be used as an dopant. Our main finding is that when the concentration of Se is doubled compared to that of Te, essentially the same high thermoelectric performance is realized.
