Silicon Quantum Dots (Si-QDs) have been widely researched for biomedical applications because of their high photostability, high chemical stability and high biodegradability. However, Si-QDs have some problem such as small absorption cross section and emission rate due to the indirect band gap nature. In this research, we coupled Si-QD monolayer to metal film over nanosphere structure to enhance both absorption cross section and emission rate.
