[15a-P3-8] Modeling of hydrogen absorption into magnesium

〇(M1)Yuta Kitagawa1, Katsuaki Tanabe1 (1.Kyoto Univ.)

Keywords:hydrogen storage, magnesium, modeling

Magnesium(Mg) is promising as a light-weight and low-cost new hydrogen-storage material. We have constructed a numerical model to represent the hydrogen dynamics on Mg, comprising dissociative adsorption, desorption, and bulk diffusion. Our calculation has shown a good agreement with experimental data for hydrogen absorption into Mg particles. We have furthermore investigated the optimal condition and materials design for efficient hydrogen storage in Mg.
