We have constructed a short distance LIDAR for crack detection and spectroscopic measurement of concrete walls. We then have demonstrated that it is possible to measure an amount of water on remote walls by analyzing the difference in absorbance at two near infrared wavelengths.
It was found that we can remove specular scattering component coming from the surface of the water by utilizing depolarization effect on the concrete surface.
