A liquid crystal cells which have the heat resistibility 70 times higher than the conventional liquid crystal cells were manufactured, and assessed its ability of resistance against strong laser beam. The liquid crystal cells are easy to install in the existing laser machining equipments, and generate arbitrary distribution of polarization and phase shift in the cross section of the laser beam.
