We measured NEXAFS spectra of graphitic carbon nitride compounds formed by vapor deposition using guanidine carbonate used as a raw material. The NEXAFS spectra of the model compounds were also calculated by using first principles calculations. We discussed the structures of graphitic carbon nitride compounds from the comparison of these spectra.
