[15p-E206-15] Thermoelectric properties of Co-substituted melt-grown higher manganese silicides

In this study, we obtained Co-substituted melt-grown higher manganese silicides (Mn1-xCoxSiγ) to improve their thermoelectric (TE) performance. As the results for TE properties measurement, Co-substituted samples exhibited higher electrical conductivity than Co-free sample. On the other hand, Seebeck coefficient for Co-substituted samples decreased compared with that of Co-free sample. Consequently, the maximum of power factor S2σ for Mn0.96Co0.04Siγ sample was S2σ = 2.0×10-3 W/mK2 (800 K), which was about 60% higher than that of Co-free sample.
