Recently, a new methodology of materials research for using data science to realize a specific function has been started and is named as material informatics (MI). The Materials Research by Information Integration Initiative (MI²I) has been started as a project of Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in NIMS from July, 2015 for the purpose of promoting this new field. In this presentation, the methodology of MI to push forward in NIMS will be summarized.
