[15p-P1-7] Appearance of circularity moiré fringes in moiré type meta-surface

We have presented “Moiré type meta-surface,” which can be useful to design a meta-surface structure in order to provide spatial modulation of the terahertz-wave in its intensity and/or phase so far. In this presentation, we extend our approach to modulate the polarization of light, especially the circularity.
We consider a meta-surface structure which consists of a metal disc array layer and a three-way oriented metal rods array layer. The layers of the meta-surface are mutually displaced on the surface. We investigated the displacement dependence of the transmittance and the circularity of a transmitted light. We obtained different distribution between the transmittance and the circularity. In a certain frequency band, a larger modulation depth of the circularity than that of transmittance are shown. This means that the unique moire pattern of circularity may appear in a moiré type meta-surface.
