We have been developing wavelength filters using silicon wire waveguides which can be used to attain compact optical circuits. The Bragg grating for converting TE0 and TE1 modes is one of these devices. The antisymmetric waveguide wall grating is the basic structure but a photonic crystal type can also be used. In this report, we proporse a sidewall grating device incorporating cavity to obtain a ring-resonator type narrow transmission wavelength peak.
