[16a-311-7] Field enhancement of mid-IR pulses with a tungsten nanotip studied by optical field photoemission

We investigate photoemission from a tungsten nanotip by mid-IR pulses. To deeply understand the photoelectron spectra, we estimate the spatial distribution of photoelectric field by solving the Maxwell equation with FDTD method. Then we calculate the photoelectron kinetic energy within the classical mechanism by using the estimated photoelectric filed. As a result, we reveal that the model calculation is in good agreement with the measured photoelectron spectra when the field enhancement factor is 12.
