An atomic oven has been used as an atomic beam source for the optical lattice clock experiment. However, it prevents us to develop a compact and transportable optical lattice clock due to its larger power consumption and so on. In order to solve this, we focus on the light induced atom desorption (LIAD). This is a phenomenon that an illumination of the ultraviolet light induces atom desorption which was deposited on a surface of a substrate. We investigate this phenomenon by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) after depositing ytterbium atoms on a fused-silica substrate.
