Keywords:quartz-crystal oscillator, biocompatible polymer material, physical property

Characterizing polymer materials for artificial organs based on their physical properties is important for improvement of the bio-compatibility. Using a quartz-crystal oscillator with dissipation technique, we can obtain a mass change and a change of an energy dissipation factor that can be reflected in viscoelasticity of a material. In this study, we measured hydration water amounts and viscoelastic properties of various polymers with this technique to discuss characteristic of the polymers in comparison with general polymers.
