Since chalcopyrite compounds have good electrical properties due to its unique band structure, they received much attention as thermoelectric materials in the middle temperature range. Especially, CuGaTe2 exhibited the high thermoelectric performance at 700-900 K. Although there are many reports on the high-temperature thermoelectric properties of CuGaTe2, its high-temperature stability has not been researched in detail. Since a thermoelectric material should have high chemical stability in the operating temperature range, it is necessary to confirm the formation phases and crystal structure in the wide temperature range. In this research, we measured the high-temperature XRD profiles of CuGaTe2 and then analyzed the relationship among high-temperature formation phases, crystal structure, and thermoelectric properties.
