We talk about the present status of liquid crystalline organic field effect transistor materials and remained issues for their practical applications: we look at basic properties and FET performance fabricated with solution-processed crystalline thin films of Ph-BTBT-10 as a representative liquid crystalline organic FET material, discuss them from underlying scientific and technological points of view, and mention how we can solve the remained issues.
