[16p-316-5] Antenna-Coupled-Electrode Electro-Optic Modulators Operating in 80 GHz Band Using Low-Dielectric-Constant and Low-Loss Fluorine-Based-Resin Substrate

We have proposed and developed an antenna-coupled-electrode optical modulator by combining with planar antennas and electro-optic modulators. This device enables us to convert wireless signals to optical signals directly without external power supply. By utilizing the polarization reversal technology, controlling the directivity in the wireless-optical signal conversion is also obtainable. In this report, newly developed devices by use of low-dielectric-constant and low-loss fluorine-based-resin are presented with successful experimental demonstration in 80 GHz band.
