[16p-P12-2] Linear cross-correlation measurements of timing jitter in a gain-switched DFB laser

A linear cross-correlation method to measure timing-jitter in pulse lasers was proposed which was based on the numerical fitting between the linear autocorrelation trace and the linear cross-correlation trace in consideration of a Gaussian timing-jitter function. The proposed method was applied to a gain-switched DFB laser under a CW light injection condition. As a result, timing jitter was estimated in the range of <0.1 – 6.3 ps.
