[16p-P4-1] Structural evaluation of √7×√7 periodic Ge monolayer film formed on Al(111)

It has been theoretically predicted that germanene has a band gap and the gap width can be controlled by applying an electric field, which is different property from graphene. However, there are only a few reports on germanene formation in experiments. In this presentation, we report the result of structural analysis by STM measurement and DFT calculation for a monolayer Ge film of √7 × √ 7 periodicity newly found on an Al (111) substrate.
