In order to develop the new phenacene-type semiconducting polymers with high open-circuit voltage, we designed and synthesized a new phenacene-type polymer involving a benzoxadiazole unit which is well-known strong acceptor for high-performance solar cells. Fabricated and characterized this polymer-based solar cell exhibited high open-circuit voltage exceeding 0.9 V and power conversion efficiency of up to 4.2%.
