[17a-303-3] Lifetime measurement of electrons in TiO2 nano particles

Keywords:TiO2, lifetime of electrons, PEEM

Electron lifetime of TiO2 nano particles were measured. In TiO2 on Si, lifetime was 1ps or shorter. This quite short lifetime is considered due to escape to Si substrate. On the other hand for TiO2 nano particles on SiO2, no long lifetime component wa sobserved. This is understood that hole cannot flow to substrate and elctrons are difficult tobe excited to vacuum due to remaning holes.
