[17a-413-5] Imaging of inclusions in a slab based on backscattering by illumination of a thin polarized light beam

Soichi Otsuki1 (1.Health RI, AIST)

Keywords:polarimetric imaging, backscattering, Monte Carlo simulation

The reduced effective Mueller matrix of backscattering was investigated for a negligibly absorbing moderately scattering isotropic slab media containing absorbing, strongly scattering, or birefringent inclusions using a Monte Carlo method. The shape and size of these inclusions as well as their optical properties are approximately estimated using this technique.
