D型及びスタジアム型ビリヤード内での光線の軌道は完全カオスとなることが厳密に知られている。まず本研究では、カオスの強さを特徴付けるリアプノフ指数のビリヤード形状依存性を明らかにする。次に、これらと同じ形状の2次元マイクロキャビティレーザはどのようなレーザ発振パターンや、スペクトル特性を持つか、という問題をレーザ媒質からの利得や吸収などを考えたMaxwell-Blochモデルを用いて確認する。
