[18a-136-8] Fabrication of Ce3+:CaF2 Phosphor and Evaluation of its Emission Characteristics

We thinned Ce3+:CaF2 phosphor, which is expected to be used as ultraviolet light source. When Ce3+ ion is replaced with Ca2+ ion in CaF2 crystal, the lattice distortion occurs because the radius of Ce3+ ion is bigger than that of Ca2+ ion. We calculated the actual doping concentration of Ce3+ ion in the thin films from the lattice distortion. In addition, the investigation to reveal the relation of the doping concentration and emission characteristics for high effeciency light emission of phosphor was conducted.
