Triangular Lattice Arrangement of Hexagonal Clusters of Dielectric Cylinders Hu et al reported that topological edge propagation occurs in photonic crystal two dimensional slab waveguides. This result shows the possibility of application of practical optical devices such as silicon photonic crystal and it has an important meaning. However, when actually constructing a slab waveguide device in the light wavelength region, scattering occurs out of the surface in the dielectric columnar structure, and metal confinement causes large loss and device application is difficult. Recently, theoretical calculations of GaAs slab waveguides using equilateral triangular pores have been reported, and experimental verifications have also been reported in the form of utilizing the polarization state of photons. In this research, based on these previous studies, fundamental design and investigation were carried out for the fabrication of topological photonic crystals in the visible region using gallium nitride (GaN).
