[18a-432-5] Interfaces in Solid-State Batteries and Their Influence on the Battery Performance

Kazunori Takada1 (1.Natl Inst Mater Sci)

Keywords:nanoionics, solid electrolyte, interface

Ionic conductors sometimes exhibit anomalous ionic transport properties at the surface or interface, which is quite different from that in the bulk. Such phenomena named as “nanoionics” has been of academic interests; however, they have become critical factors governing the performance of solid-state batteries, because recently-developed solid electrolytes show higher conductivities than liquids. I will demonstrate some interfacial phenomena that affect the battery performance greatly.
