A new cancer DDS that uses nanodiamond as the drug carrier is recently attracting much attention for its outstanding performance for animals. This method has been developed from the beginning under close joint work with Japan and China and relies heavily on the unique structure and properties of detonation nanodiamond particle. For the first time we address the details of mechanism and characteristics behind this novel DDS method from the angles of materials science in this lecture.
