Keywords:atomic force microscopy

We have experienced the phenomenon of membrane break during the observation of membrane samples (such as lipid bilayers) using tapping mode atomic force microscopy (AFM). If conditions of solid film break at tapping mode AFM measurement are clarified, we can understand break of various membranes including lipid bilayer membrane. In this research, in order to clarify the conditions of solid film destruction at tapping mode AFM measurement, we aimed to discuss conditions and tendencies when static break occurred first of all.
