In recently years, a lot of attention has been paid to magnetostrictive vibration energy harvester that generate electric power using Fe-Ga alloy. Conventionally, Fe - Ga alloys are manufactured by a single crystal production technique. There is concern that cost of mono-crystallization process increases and price of material will stop high. In this report, we have fabricated a magnetostrictive vibration energy harvester using a poly-crystalline Fe-Ga alloy omitting the single crystallization process and compared its performance with a device using a single crystal.
