We measured transient reflectivity of GaAs by using pump-probe measurement, with femtosecond pulses. We observed spike-shaped optical response when a pump pulse and a probe pulse overlap. This optical response has polarization dependence. This dependence may originate from EO-sampling technique. We also report coherent control experiments with a pair of phase-locked pump pulses.
