The weak grain coupling of REBCO polycrystalline materials is thought to be improved by densification and grain alignment in the microstructure. In order to establish the preparation method of tri-axially aligned REBCO polycrystalline materials with high density, in this study, optimal sintering conditions for randomly oriented sintered YBCO bulks have been systematically investigated. In addition, based on these results, development of tri-axially aligned REBCO (RE=Y, Er) thick film have been also attempted.
