▲ [19p-211B-2] [INVITED] High-Speed Imaging and Tracking of Very Small Nanoparticles by Coherent Brightfield (COBRI) Microscopy
Keywords:microscopy, single particle tracking, nanoparticle
Imaging and tracking small nanoparticles are powerful tools in many fields including biology. In this talk, I will present the recent advancements of scattering-based interferometric laser microscopy, i.e., coherent brightfield (COBRI) microscopy, which enables ultrasensitive and ultrahigh-speed tracking of very small nanoparticles. Together with proper background estimation and correction, such high-precision measurements can also be performed in live cells. These new developments open the door to study fast cell dynamics at the nanometer length scale and microsecond timescale. Using COBRI microscopy, I will present the recent new findings of virus-membrane interaction, intracellular vesicle transportation, and single-molecule membrane dynamics.
