[19p-222-7] Control of Phase Separation in Freestanding Lipid Bilayer over Microwells
Keywords:nanobiodevices, vesicle fusion, phase separation
We are aiming to fabricate a nanobiodevice which works with membrane proteins in a lipid bilayer suspended over microwells on a Si substrate. By introducing a raft-like structure in freestanding membranes, the arrangement and the function of membrane proteins will be controlled. In this paper, we supply necessary amount of unsaturated lipid molecules which constituting La phase by vesicle fusion with freestanding membranes of Lo phase and control the La/Lo phase separation. We confirmed that a small Lo domain in the freestanding membrane was remained for long time more than 24 hours.
