[19p-223-6] Radiation dose and radiation quality estimation in biological irradiation port of Kindai University reactor (UTR-KINKI)
Keywords:UTR-KINKI, Neutron energy Spectrum, Gamma-ray energy spectrum
The Kindai University reactor (UTR-KINKI) has been used for many studies such as rector physics, radiation biology and so on. UTR-KINKI is a small reactor with the graphite reflector and has a rectangle irradiation port with the dimension of 9.6cm×9.6cm×122cm. Neutron and gamma-ray dose rates are about 20 cGy/h in a condition of 1 W operation. Our group started dose and radiation quality measurements in biological irradiation conditions since 2000. Up to now, we have carried out (1) neutron energy spectrum estimation by the foil activation method with artificial neural network analysis, (2) neutron and gamma-ray mixed dose rate measurements by the twin chamber method, (3) neutron energy spectrum distortion on mice irradiation, (4) microdosimetry and (5) gamma-ray energy spectrum estimation in the irradiation port. In this presentation, I would like to show our results for radiation dose and radiation quality for the UTR-KINKI users.
