Since the performance of organic thin-film devices significantly depends on the crystal structure and molecular orientation of the organic semiconductor molecules, understanding of the structure-controlling factors is of great importance. In the present study, the key factors of the structural control of a tetraphenylporphyrin (H2TPP) thin film are revealed by using the GIXD and pMAIRS techniques. The evaporation time of the solvent is found to be an important factor for obtaining the kinetically stable crystal structure of H2TPP.
