We are investigating the YAG ceramic material co-doped with Cr, Nd and Yb which can enhance the NIR emission with the excitation by flash lamp or solar light. In this paper, the detailed comparison between measured temporal characteristics of fluorescence and their model calculation results using rate equations will be presented for understanding the energy transfer processes between three kinds of ions and the quenching process in Nd and/or Yb ions.
