We report on a simple method to fabricate Mn-doped poly triazine imide (PTI) by using melamine and cyanuric chloride as the building blocks and Mn as the coupling reagent. X-ray diffraction measurement on this compound reveals that this material forms a two-dimensional imide bridged triazine network with an ordered arrangement of 24-atom voids which are occupied by NO3 ions. Mn ions are intercalated within interlayer 24-atom void center sites for charge balance. The Mn intercalated PTI shows a Curie like paramagnetism that originates isolated magnetic moments on intercalated Mn ions.
