[19p-PA5-3] Versatile Power Amplifier Consists of Merely Solar Cell and High-Power LED

Kensho Okamoto1,2, Masami Hosokawa2, Fumio Matsushita1,2 (1.Kagawa Univ., 2.Optosemiconductor Lab)

Keywords:solar cell, distar, light-emitting diode

The first author K.Okamoto found in 2011 that a novel amplifier device could be produced only by connecting a Si photodiode and high-power LED and letting them opposed each other. The new device was named "DISTAR". The distar behaved just same as conventional bipolar transistor. Further in 2012, Okamoto developed power distars using Si solar cell instead of Si photodiode. The characteristics of the power distar were almost same as those of conventional Si power transistor. In this conference the high-power distar and its application will be introduced.
