We have developed a new technique for the crystal growth of organic semiconductors. An aromatic compound that are solid at room temperature and the organic semiconductor are vacuum-sealed in a tube. By elevating temperature, a highly concentrated solution is obtained. Crystallization of the organic semiconductor is promoted by temperature gradient and decreasing temperature. We have obtained cm-sized crystals of pentacene. Some applications using these large crystals are presented, including evaluation of mechanical properties.
