Liquid crystalline cholesteric blue phases (BPs) continue to attract interest for their fast response times and quasi-polarized phases ion-independent phase modulation capabilities. We have previously shown that the orientation of BP I is affected by the orientation of the previous phase thus exhibits hysteresis.In this study, we investigated the crystal orientation of BP I reoriented from the electrically unwound homeotropic state.On an unidirectionally orienting surface, it was found that the orientation of the reoriented BP I can be set uniquely regardless of the alignment before applying voltage.In addition, we fabricated reflectyion type hologram having circular polarized selectivity at wide incident angle using by using this orientation method of BP.
