Bilayer graphene (BLG) is a promising infrared detector due to interband transitions and tunable band gap. Moreover, optical absorption of 20% resulted from Van Hove singularity has been experimentally reported. Utilizing the amplfication effect of phototransistor regime, room temperature detection of infrared in BLG phototransistors has also been theoritically proposed. In this study, the possibility of phototransistor operation in h-BN/BLG heterostructures was investigated by observing visible-light photoresponse in h-BN/BLG heterostructures.
