In recent years, there has been growing the interest in clean energies from the environmental problems. We constructed the power generation system using the soil microbial existing in forests and fields, and started basic experiments. The soil was placed in a container for a microbial fuel cell and the carbon felts were installed as the electrodes on the soil surface and in the soil. It was confirmed that by changing the distance between the electrodes, the power generation amount of the microbial fuel cell changed. From now on, we will proceed with the research by increasing the microbial abundance and its life expectancy, increasing the supply of organic material.
