In order to reduce the cost of the REBCO tape wires, the new architecture using the conductive buffer layer and the cube-textured copper tape is considered. In development of the conductive buffer layers, it is found that there is no reproducibility of data despite the same manufacturing conditions. These factors were investigated by microstructure analysis.
