Keywords:Transition edge sensor, Single photon detector

Optical transition edge sensor (TES) detectors which can resolve an energy of a single photon have proven desirable in quantum information and biology. TESs can provide spectra ranging from near-infrared to visible region, and are expected to reveal new phenomena in biology. To applied the detectors to biology, their responses on near-infrared and visible photons should be understood well. We saw the response of TESs irradiating photons at 450 to 1,000 nm in 10 nm increments, using a supercontinuum laser and tunable bandpass filters (TBFs).
