[20p-224A-9] Numerical analysis of a metasurface with an ultra-high extinction ratio

Hiroyuki Kurosawa1, Shin-ichiro Inoue1 (1.NICT)

Keywords:plasmonics, polarizer, metasurface

It is possible to enhance a performance of a matasurface polarizer with stacked self-complementary structures by reducing loss and optimizing geometry of the polarizer. On the basis of the findings, the geometry of the metasurface was re-designed and optimized, resulting in a much higher extinction ratio compared with that in previous studies. In this presentation, a detailed structure of the metasurface will be shown and the mechanism responsible for such an ultra-high extinction ratio will be discussed.
