[20p-432-2] Diffusion of Water in Vitreous Silica Through the Binding Interface

Diffusion of OH groups through the binding interface of silica glasses with containing different concentrations of OH groups were observed. The diffusion coefficients analyses by the Boltzmann-Matano’s methods showed that the hydroxyl diffusion coefficients were proportional to the OH concentration at each heat-treatment temperature. This result confirms the diffusion model of the OH group diffuse by the repetition of the reaction and desorption with the silica glass network.
