For the purpose of application to biosensors, we newly characterized the electrical properties of the DNA molecules. The electrical properties were investigated with complex impedance plot. After the DNA molecules were introduced using a microchannel measuring 50 µm in depth and 500 µm in width, they were electrostatically stretched and immobilized between two triangular-shaped aluminum electrodes with a gap of 15 µm by applying an AC voltage. From the complex impedance of the DNA molecules, an equivalent circuit was obtained as a series connection of two parallel circuits consisting of two resistances and two parasitic capacitances.
